Prior to using Nth Round’s software and services, we were communicating to our shareholders through paper mailings that went out to all owners, trustees, advisers, tax professionals, wealth managers, etc. We sent everything from state and federal tax statements to proxy voting forms. The fact that these communications were done via physical mail meant that we had to keep a close eye on changes to mailing addresses and give ourselves lots of lead time. We use a Microsoft Access database to keep track of most of this data.
It was important to us that we have a system that could continue to utilize that database as we set off on a multi-year effort to transition towards a more modern solution.
With the help of Nth Round, we are now communicating almost entirely through their custom-built shareholder portal.
With the family in its fifth generation, we were concerned that some of our more traditional shareholders would struggle with the transition to an online system, but by having Nth Round create and distribute a two-page PDF guide as well as a 15-minute webinar, those fears were quickly alleviated.

We recently completed our annual proxy voting through Nth Round’s platform for the first time since signing up at the end of last year, which went smoother than ever.
