George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Stephon Clark, and so many other Black men and women have wrongfully lost their lives to racial injustices by police. These tragedies continue at an alarming rate in our country to this day.
The team at Nth Round stands wholeheartedly behind the current protests taking place across America and around the globe, in the name of Black Lives Matter, against police brutality and systemic racism in our society. The statistics are hard to bear: 1 in every 1,000 Black men are killed by police simply because of the color of their skin. It's a sobering reality in our country that can only be changed through meaningful and prolonged efforts by us all.
Inaction is simply not an option.
At Nth Round, we are doubling down on our efforts to improve our own diversity, beginning with joining a number of recruiting networks that focus on attracting talented people who are under-represented in our industry. However, this under-representation in the finance and technology sectors is so severe that we must go farther to cultivate a wider interest in our field. Our team has made, and continues to make, donations to organizations that foster Black entrepreneurship, including Black Girl Ventures, Code Fever, and others, and we recommend you look into supporting organizations like these as well.
We have always encouraged more equitable and transparent ownership among our clients and partners, but in addition to our more established clients, we also work with a number of startups and early-stage companies. We're working harder than ever to engage and partner with our local communities to make entrepreneurship and fundraising more accessible to all.
Lastly, we are continuing to educate ourselves and listen to those who have been so wronged by racial inequality and injustice. We are open to all ideas on how we can help, and encourage you to contact us anytime here.
Together, let’s build a truly equitable and diverse future. We hope you’ll join us!
